The Cocoa Beach Volunteer Resident Historians (a group of volunteer-citizens under the direction of the City Clerk's Office) have been engaged in creating the City's first "Historical Calendar for 2011". The two-sided, 14-page limited edition calendar will be available for purchase ($12) at the upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend Art Festival and/or through the City Clerk's Office thereafter until supplies last.
Pictured below are local historians Bill Ross and Jena Tuntas who (along with several other volunteers) have been gathering information, typing, printing and assembling the calendar in order to have it ready for sale next weekend. Other members of the group include: Robert Fritz, Bonnie Doyle, Julia George, Dennis Bennett, Kathryn Seidel, Wayne Henderson and Tom Baldwin. Their mission, per City Commission Resolution 2009-37, is to "collect, preserve, and share the heritage and history of Cocoa Beach."
