| US AIR FORCE "THUNDERBIRDS" SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE OVER COCOA BEACH THIS AFTERNOON AROUND 3:30PM IN VICINITY OF THE COCOA BEACH PIER "AIR FORCE WEEK-2010" KICKS OFF TODAY AT THE PIER AT 4:30PM
 In addition to today's arrival "fly over", the Air Force Thunderbird precission flying team will begin a "full practice run" along the beachfront areas beginning on Friday, October 29th at approximately 12:00 Noon.
Citizens and visitors should be able to observe the practice sessions along with other aerial performers throughout the afternoon from the pier area south to Minutemen Causeway. Be prepared for some loud noise accompanied by these powerful jet aircraft.
The actual "Cocoa Beach Air Show-2010" on Saturday and Sunday will begin each day at 9:00am at Lori Wilson Park - "Show Center" - with equipment displays and several vendors selling food and drinks. The weekend aerial shows are scheduled to begin at 12:00 Noon each day with the Thunderbirds' performance being the last event (approximately 3:30PM).
Expect long traffic delays throughout the weekend on State Road A1A throughout Cocoa Beach and at all entry points such as the Beach Line (SR 528) and State Road 520. |
